Secure Kiosk Operating System (SKOS)

Computers enable people to perform a wide variety of tasks, but self-service applications generally require more restricted functionality, in order to focus end-users on the intended application. Self-Service Networks’ Secure Kiosk Operating System (SKOS) has been designed to provide this level of control, and to handle the security and usability issues unique to self-service solutions in a public environment.
SKOS essentially “public proofs” a kiosk, ensuring that it can only be used for its intended purpose. End users can be given restricted access to certain applications or web sites, while all other functionality is blocked by default.
SKOS features a customizable front-end interface that replaces the look and feel of a typical Web browser. Self-Service Networks’ Creative Services team customizes the look & feel and functionality of this interface to support both our clients’ branding and self-service objectives.
inReach

Of the many components that contribute to a successful self-service initiative, one of the most important and under-appreciated is ongoing support & maintenance. A self-service initiative is an ongoing project, and keeping your kiosks up-and-running and up-to-date can be a challenge, especially when multiple locations are involved.
To meet this challenge, Self-Service Networks offers inReach™, a remote monitoring service that provides:
- Health Monitoring
- Usage Reporting
- Content Management
inReach runs on Self-Service Networks’ servers and communicates directly with your kiosks via the Internet. With inReach, you can easily access important real-time information about your kiosks from any computer via our secure inReach portal.
inReach enables you to:
- Know if your kiosks are functioning properly, without leaving your desk
- Generate reports on kiosk usage, which provide valuable feedback on the success of your kiosk project
- Quickly & easily update your kiosk content
- Exert greater control over your kiosk network
- Rest easier
We think you'll find inReach to be an integral part of your self-service plans.
