Information Kiosk - Mobile Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau

Located on the shores of the Gulf Coast is beautiful and historic Mobile Bay, Alabama, which attracts over 2 million visitors annually. Mobile Bay offers an ideal cruise departure point for South Easterners, with more than 100,000 visitors passing through the brand new Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal each year.
The Mobile Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau is charged with attracting visitors and conventions to the Mobile Bay area and strengthening Mobile's image as a national destination. As part of its efforts, the Mobile Bay CVB decided to better promote the Mobile Bay area as a vacation destination to the cruise ship passengers who had come to Mobile to begin their cruise trips. Rather than simply putting up posters or handing out brochures, the Mobile Bay CVB wanted a more engaging and interactive solution, and that's when they called Self-Service Networks. Mobile Bay CVB's Mary Toombs explains:
As a convention and visitors bureau, there is a unique need to not only provide effective, up-to-date information to visitors, but to also collect data about these visitors. We chose Self-Service Networks' Barbados kiosk with the large overhead monitor. The kiosk is located in the passenger processing area of our new cruise terminal, where passengers waiting to board have time to learn more about our area. From across the facility, passengers can watch and listen to a looping DVD on the overhead monitor that highlights Mobile Bay's attractions. When the visitors approach the interactive touch screen to find out more about Mobile Bay, a simple registration page in the kiosk interface allows us to capture their contact information. With this information we can track and keep in contact with people we hope will return for another visit! This kiosk unit is the ideal solution, and meets all of our needs. Self-Service Networks' inReach remote monitoring has been a big plus. With the kiosk located a good distance from our offices, inReach allows us to remotely update the information provided to visitors, as well as evaluate visitor data that we gather. We have been very pleased by the professionalism and attentiveness exhibited by the Self-Service Networks staff throughout every phase of this project." |
